Exciting News—Construction has begun!! With the construction site blocking of the main entrance—the entrance is now on the south side of the building by the bell tower—Go through the playground gates on the east side of school. As the new school year is fast approaching the bus zone/pickup/drop-off/delivery entrance will also be the bell tower door.

There will be a Hat Day on Wednesday, December 6 (tomorrow) to help with medical expenses for Jen Obrigewitch and her family. This is Mrs. Jenna Redmond’s nephew. The cost to wear a hat is $1.

DeMores Expansion Project Public Informational Meeting The Billings County School Board is holding a public informational meeting regarding the DeMores Expansion Project which is to include construction of a gymnasium and three additional classrooms (Phase I) and expansion of school kitchen and cafeteria (Phase II). The public is encouraged to attend. Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the library at DeMores School in Medora.

Badlands Art Association Fall Show exhibits start this weekend! BCSD accounts for 1/4th of all the student projects, so please come see our work at the Prairie Hills Mall. The show lasts from Friday evening Nov. 10th thru Thursday Nov. 16th. Check it out!

Due to the current weather and road conditions, we will be utilizing our online learning option for school tomorrow. Students have materials, iPads, and schedules and should be ready to go. Please, make sure your child/children are online and ready to go for the day. Thank you and stay safe!

Dear Billings County Families and Community Members, At the start of the 2023 year, North Dakota went to a three class basketball system. Class AA, A, and B. On February 19, 2023, the South Heart School Board voted to remove themselves from the Heart River Co-Op for both boys’ and girls’ basketball in order to play in class B. With that being said, Billings County School District is looking to continue our Co-Op with Belfield in both boys’ and girls’ basketball. The HR Co-Op will remain in place for the volleyball, football, golf, track, etc. There will be a public input meeting on March 2nd at 6 pm, held in Belfield’s gymnasium. All are welcome to attend in order to gather information, have questions answered, or just to voice your opinion. We are looking forward to this opportunity and will be working closely with Belfield to make these up-coming seasons great for our student athletes. Thank you, Billings County School District
